Attendees at this year’s Presentation Day had the opportunity to learn about recording ancient wall paintings, to hear my process of illustrating a butterfly life cycle, to hear a member speak about her in-progress experiences illustrating a children’s book, and then to both hear about and try Chinese Brush Painting techniques and pen and ink with watercolour techniques. Although we only had five presenters this year, it seems as though we never have enough time to squeeze in all of the conversations (and in this case, painting experiments) during our allotted time, even though we were together as a group from 10:45 AM to 8:15 PM!
I found the whole day to be fun and inspirational. It’s great to be able to share ideas and experiences with like-minded individuals.
Karen Logan mentioned a good video about Chinese Brush Painting during her demonstration. Here is the link to that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF3EbR8y8go
Thanks very much to all of the presenters, and to Karen Logan for the use of her projector and laptop.
