SONSI member and accomplished scratchboard artist Lori Dunn has an exhibit of her work at the prestigious Algonquin Art Centre this September.
She also has a couple pieces in their season-long exhibit (now until Oct. 19) on the theme “Algonquin at Night.” One is this view of a snapping turtle:

Also in the exhibit is an extraordinary scratchboard illustration of the moon and its reflection at the impressive size of 60 x 24 inches!

About the piece, Lori says “In this particular piece I wanted to represent the full moon in high detail, as seen via modern day technology, while maintaining a loose, interpretive reflection on the surface of the water. This dual contrast represents science and spiritual native characteristics coming together to embody one of the most mysterious, and influential planets in our universe.”
